5 Months Down...

The Count: 21 weeks, 5 days

Last week, the baby was supposed to be getting the second layer of skin that makes up the fingerprints and footprints. We're hoping that Iggy has very common elements in his prints so if/when forced to turn to a life a crime, he'll be harder to track down.

Iggy now weighs about 3/4 of a pound, and should be 10.5 inches long from head to heels - roughly the size of a large banana. (Why do the books keep comparing the baby to food?). The eyelids and eyebrows are fully formed and in place, and Iggy is also swallowing more.

Which I think is kind of creepy.

The baby should be consistently active at this point, moving about 50 times per hour, whether awake or asleep. Iggy is definitely a very active kid - I can feel him/her move around quite a bit now, mostly in the mid-morning and in the early evening. Unfortunately, Iggy tends to move the most when Robert isn't around to feel it! Robert claims this is because the baby is going to have a stubborn streak. Just like me.
